Said post is a bit over the top. We do not know why DB hasn't been attending to the RYOR forums .......... could be due to illness or any number of valid reasons. That said, I invite those awaiting membership here at RYOR to register over at the BaccyTown forum. If and when your membership is approved here, you can participate in both forums ( I do ). I hope Dan is well because I consider him a good friend, but none of us really know why he's not been around.

Once again I have to apologize for my inability to administer the forums these past several months and to everyone who submitted an account registration and is still awaiting approval.

As soon as I have resolved the problem with the forums Email system I'll start going through and approving new member accounts.

Thanks for your interest in the RYOR community.

Its nice to see your alive and well. Sorry to hear about the glitch in your life. Sounds like you have it under control. In the meantime, I did a google look at your house. Is that field in back yours? Would make for alot of tobacco one season.

That shit's unreal. I couldn't believe it the first time I Googled mine. It had everything in intimidating detail down to my cars and bikes. Not sure that's an altogether great "service" but it's there. When they finish the impending 3-D Maps they've been working on, (already available in some areas I understand) it should be most impressive from what I hear. Virtual tours of towns, parks, cities, your past-due cars etc, the repo-mans best friend, if you're a little late that is.

We are on about 3 acres, the farmed fields you can see in Google maps all belong to neighbors who usually plant corn or soybeans.

As far as growing tobacco, I think there are federal restrictions on how much tobacco you can grow for "personal use" before permits, licenses etc. are required. But I've always felt the the bigger obstacle would be the required space for drying/curing and then aging in a temperature & humidity controlled environment.

After fixing the forum Email system I've been processing new member registrations as I receive them. Anyone still waiting on their registration notification should double-check their SPAM folder or post a message or Email me.

I'm locking this thread, please see the new topic for updates:
